Police thwart IPL betting racket

Delhi police on Saturday busted an illegal online gambling racket on an IPL qualifier match, arresting seven people, local media reports.

The racket was reportedly operating from a restaurant in northwest Delhi's Ashok Vihar. Six bookies and the restaurant’s manager were arrested.

According to police, the management and owner of the restaurant were aware of the gambling racket and even provided stationery to them.

A further investigation is underway to unearth the entire racket.
