RGB consortium among the shortlisted bidders for Savan Vegas Hotel

A consortium consisting of RGB International, RGB Macau Ltd, together with consortium members Datuk Chuah Kim Seah and Ung Chi Fong has announced it has been shortlisted to bid for the acquisition of Savan Vegas Hotel, a casino resort in Laos, local media reports.

The Malaysia-headquartered gaming machine manufacturer said its subsidiary had been qualified to participate in the bidding process for the Savan Vegas Hotel in Savannakhet, and added that bids to purchase and operate the complex would be submitted on May 10, 2016.

According to a filing to Bursa Malaysia, the company previously submitted an EOI to bid for the purchase and operation of the central Laos casino resort, which features a hotel, casino and a number of entertainment facilities.

The bidding process was first announced by the government last October and, according to San Marco Capital Partners (SMC), the exclusive sales agent working on behalf of the Lao government, other shortlisted bidders include Iao Kun Group Holding Company Ltd., Groupe Lucien Barrière, PGP Investors, LLC, Macau Legend Development Ltd., and Silver Heritage Ltd.

“The winning bidder will receive the Complex assets and a concession agreement granting it the right to operate the Complex for a 50-year period,” said SMC.
