Risk of terrorist attack in Macau low

Judiciary Police Director, Chau Wai Kuong said the risk of a terrorist attack in Macau is “relatively low," playing down the findings of a recent report from a security consultancy. 

According to a recent report by Hong Kong based security consultancy Steve Vickers & Associates, cities such as Macau could see a “spectacular” terrorist attack given US and Jewish interests in the city.

However, according to police intelligence, the risk is relatively low, according to Chau. He was quick to add that local law-enforcement agencies will stay vigilant to prevent any such attack.
