Russia to issue second online sports betting license

Russia’s second online sports betting license is soon to be issued to Stolo, a major online and land operator in the country, local media reports.

The operator will launch a new online betting site under the brand 888.ru, using a BetConstruct-provided platform.

The 888 name triggered a small wave of speculation, but it was confirmed that it was not associated in anyway with the online casino group 888 Holdings.

Liga Stavok holds Russia’s first online sports betting license, which it received in February.

Liga Stavok is the trade name of First International Bookmaker Company, one of the leading Russian gambling companies with over one million customers, employing over 1,000 people.
