Sands China announces pay increase and bonus to eligible staff

Macau-based Sands China Ltd has announced it will be paying a bonus to its eligible staff on Feb. 5, 2016, according to a press release from the casino operator.

All full-time team members (manager or below) who joined the company before Oct. 1, 2015, and are still employed on Feb. 5, 2016, are eligible for the February bonus, which will be one month’s extra salary.

In addition, the casino operator says it is increasing the salaries of 96 percent of all staff, effective March 1, 2016. Full-time employees earning salaries less than or equal to MOP 12,000 (US$1,496) per month will receive a pay increase of MOP 500 per month. Those earning monthly salaries above MOP 12,000 will receive an average of a 2 percent pay rise, with a monthly salary ceiling of MOP 45,000 after the pay rise.

“Sands China is pleased to announce this bonus and salary increase during such a challenging business environment,” said Wilfred Wong, president of Sands China Ltd. “We are committed to rewarding our greatest asset – our dedicated employees, who have been working hard amid challenges. I look forward to having another successful year in 2016 with the continuous dedication from our team members, and on behalf of Sands China and our chairman, Sheldon G. Adelson, I thank each of our outstanding team members for doing their part to provide unforgettable experiences for our many guests and visitors.”
