Sands China hands out bonus, salary hike


Sands China Ltd. has announced it will be paying a discretionary bonus and increasing the salaries of all eligible employees by an average of 2 to 6 percent, according to a company press release.

Taking effect March 1, 2017, eligible full-time employees earning monthly salaries less than or equal to MOP12,000 (US$1,500) will receive a pay rise of MOP600, while team members earning monthly salaries MOP12,000 and above will receive an average of a 2-2.5 percent pay rise.

In addition, qualified team members who have completed at least one full year of service in 2016 will receive a discretionary bonus on Jan. 27, equivalent to at least one month’s salary.

Sands China is very proud of the commitment and solid contributions of all our team members, and seeks to reward them accordingly. This year, we would like to share the successes of 2016 by offering a salary increment and bonus for eligible team members to express our gratitude for their teamwork and dedication to the company....” said Dr. Wilfred Wong, president of Sands China Ltd.

On Thursday, Sands China reported a 12 percent increase in total revenues for the fourth quarter of 2016  to US$1.9 billion. Net income decreased 7.9 percent to US$348 million, compared to US$378 million in the prior year period.
