Sands China joins list of operators offering CPF scheme

Employees of Sands China will be able to enroll in the government-promoted Non-Mandatory Central Provident Fund (CPF) Scheme starting from July 1 this year, according to a press release from the company on Monday.

Local team members who join the company from July 1 onward will have the option to sign up for the retirement savings scheme, while current local team members can choose to transfer to the new CPF system or remain in the company’s current provident fund scheme.

“Recognising that its team members are the company’s greatest asset, Sands China continues to place great importance on their well-being. Sands China was the first integrated resort operator in Macau to offer a provident fund scheme for its team members, and the company’s introduction of the non-mandatory CPF option is part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen the company’s comprehensive benefits scheme by enhancing team members’ retirement protection,” said Sands China in a statement.

Operators offering the CPF scheme now include Melco, Wynn Macau, and Galaxy Entertainment Group. SJM and MGM China are also joining the CPF scheme.
