Sands China Ltd. has launched a new career development programme for 1000 of its staff, offering them alternative jobs in non-gaming areas of its properties, according to a press release.
The programme, entitled “My Way” will allow participating staff to work in several non-gaming areas, including food and beverage, security, business development, wardrobe, guest relations, housekeeping, and facilities.
Sands says the programme is “unlike standard work transfers,” instead, the programme allows staff to try a variety of positions before applying for permanent placement.
“Participants in the voluntary programme will have an opportunity to take new positions at Sands China properties, including at The Parisian Macao, working in their new roles for a period of two years with a possibility to extend for another year,” said the operator. “Team Members can return to their original gaming roles at any time or can choose to stay in their new non-gaming roles,” the company added.

Around 1,200 local team members have already show interest in the programme.
