Sands China to participate in Responsible Gambling 2015

Sands China Ltd. announced it is participating in Responsible Gambling 2015 for the seventh year with several initiatives promoting responsible gaming in the local community.

The annual campaign is jointly organised by the Macao Social Welfare Bureau, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau and the University of Macau.

As part of the campaign, Sands China organised a responsible gaming quiz from October 12 to 16 in an effort to enhance team members’ knowledge of house advantage, probability, the self-exclusion application, and the concepts behind games of skill.

Prizes were given to 50 randomly drawn team members from among those who had answered all questions correctly. This year’s quiz attracted more than 5,400 participants – the highest number to date, doubling last year’s participation.

“The activities aim to further increase team members’ awareness of problem gambling and to foster responsible gaming behaviour, demonstrating the company’s dedication to the development of responsible gaming in the Macao community.”

In addition, Sands China donated a total of MOP450,000 to three non-governmental organisations, Young Men's Christian Association of Macau, Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Service Coordination Office and the Macau Industrial Evangelistic Fellowship Centre for Problem Gamblers, all of which specialize in providing responsible gaming services.
