SHFL withdraws claim against Paradise

SHFL Entertainment (Asia) has withdrawn a claim in Macau’s court of First Instance against Paradise Entertainment Group and its Chairman Jay Chun over alleged patent infringement.

As a result, the case was dismissed on May 3, Paradise said in a Hong Kong Stock Exchange filing. SHFL had claimed abuse of intellectual property rights relating to patents 1/150 and 1/380 and infringement of the rules of fair competition.

SHFL was ordered to pay all fees relating to the case.

The respondents in the judicial proceeding have always refuted all allegations put forward by SHFL and restated its rights under the relevant patents registered in the Macau Special Administrative Region.

The long-running case dates back to 2012.
