Sinitic expands Manila team with new VP Engineering hire

Sinitic.ai, producing advanced AI-enabled chatbots, or “AICX (Automated Intelligent Customer Experiences) solutions,” for iGaming and Banking firms in Asia, recently hired Jun Hernandez as VP Engineering.

Hernandez comes with a wealth of iGaming and FinTech experience, having been an Engineering Manager at Bodog as well as Director of Engineering and IT Operations at World Hub Services. Most recently, Hernandez was Director of Engineering and Delivery for Verifone in the Southeast North Asia region.

“It’s great to have found someone in our core market, Asia, with Jun’s skills and experience,” Sinitic.ai CEO Curtis Matlock. “Jun is a master of Agile methodologies which is essential for helping us to quickly deploy AICX solutions that not only deflect CS chats but also improves retention and monetization for our operators. He has real-world experience in delivering scalable solutions in commercial environments, as proven at his time at Verifone, World Hub and Bodog.”

“This is a very exciting time in the market for ‘conversational commerce’ solutions,” Hernandez said. “When I saw what Sinitic.ai was doing, from their unique Natural Language Processing (NLP) for Asian languages and their remarkably fast bot-construction based on chat histories, I was keen to join the team.”

Hernandez is building out his team in Manila and actively hiring AI and Python experienced developers. “Manila was a deliberate choice; we want to be near our client-base,” he said.

Manila is Sinitic.ai’s fourth office, joining a network including Vancouver, London and Johannesburg.
