Sixth offshore casino vessel to anchor in Panaji

Casino vessel MV Lucky 7 has been given approval to anchor in Panaji as a refuge vessel due to the monsoon season, local media reports.

Global Globe Hotels Pvt. Ltd, the owner of the vessel, had reportedly requested the high court for it to be allowed to dock over fears it would be heavily damaged in the sea during the monsoon.

However, officials were quick to note that the vessel is only allowed to dock due to the directions from the judiciary. Revenue minister Rohan Khaunte addressing a press conference reiterated that the government is firm on its decision to shift all the casinos out of River Mandovi.
