Macau casino operator SJM Holdings has announced a salary increase of between 2.5 to 8.3 percent for its employees, effective April 1.

According to a press release from SJM, all eligible employees whose monthly salary is less than MOP16,000 will be given a pay increase of MOP 600, equivalent to an increase of 3.7 percent to 8.3 percent.

Meanwhile, employees with a monthly salary of MOP 16,000 or above will receive a pay increase of 2.5 percent.

“SJM’s Grand Lisboa Palace, currently under construction on Cotai, will soon augment SJM’s business with non-gaming elements that will enhance Macau’s role as a world center of tourism and leisure,” said the company in a statement on Monday.

“On completion, the Grand Lisboa Palace will create over 8,000 jobs and provide career advancement opportunities for current local employees.  Looking forward, SJM will continue to uphold the people-oriented principal and join hands with all team members of SJM in achieving spectacular results.”
