Star Vegas to add 100 VIP gaming tables

Donaco International says it expects to add approximately 100 gaming tables to its Star Vegas casino over the next few months.

“The international expansion will make use of the currently underutilized space at the property, and represents a new source of incremental revenue in FY17 and beyond,” said the company in its filing to the ASX on Monday.

It also added that it was making ‘good progress’ in regards to marketing the property to a new group of international VIPs.

The casino operator also said as part of its transition to full management control of Star Vegas, it is currently renegotiating the terms and conditions for its existing Thai junket business, with former junket operators being replaced by new ones.

“During this transition period, Donaco anticipates that earnings from the VIP portion of the Star Vegas business in the first quarter of FY18 will be lower than the corresponding months last year,” said Donaco in a statement.

The company said it does not expect any impact on its mass gaming business.

In May, Donaco said it expects to record EBITDA of $61 million for FY17 at Star Vegas.

Its Aristo business has also performed strongly in FY17. Unaudited EBITDA for FY17 was RMB 73.2 million (US$10.8 million), an increase of 38 percent year-on-year.
