Success Universe sees return to profit in 2018

Success Universe says it expects to return to profit in 2018, mainly due to revenue from its share in the Ponte 16 casino in Macau.

The company didn’t give details of the size of the profit in a filing with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on Friday. It will disclose its results later this month. It posted a loss of HK$29.8 million (3.7 million) in 2017.

Success Universe also said its results had been helped by the non-recurrence of a loss posted as a result of the sale of a lottery business in China the prior year.

Ponte 16 is the only resort situated in Macau’s Inner Harbor, part of “The Historic Centre of Macao” which is a designated UNESCO World Heritage site.

The resort consists of a five-star hotel, a casino, Asia’s first MJ Gallery, and an entertainment and retail complex. The casino consists of 270,000 square feet of gaming floor housing 109 gaming tables, 3 VIP Clubs and about 300 slot machines, according to the company’s web site.
