Suncity reportedly seeking legal opinion on Beijing Imperial

Suncity Group Holdings is reportedly taking legal advice after rival junket operator Amax International Holdings disputed its assertion it has taken control of the shuttered Beijing Imperial Palace Hotel in Macau.

“‘Suncity Group is seeking legal opinion on the matter while the Group’s investigation is in progress, so no further comment can be made at this stage,” Macau News Agency reported a company statement as saying.

A Suncity executive told a Chinese newspaper that the company had taken over Beijing Imperial and its Greek Mythology Casino. However, Amax International, which owns a stake in Greek Mythology, put out a statement to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on earlier this week denying that report.
