Taipa LRT to open in 19H2

The Light Rail System between Taipa and Cotai is expected to become operational from the second half of 2019, local media reports.

The system will help to move visitors and locals between the two districts in Macau - which are known for having a cluster of casinos in each.

According to a representative from the Transport Bureau (DSAT), the Taipa LRT will run from 6:00am to 1:00am, will have 11 stations and run 55 trains, each with two to five carriages carrying around 100 passengers in each.

On Wednesday, Secretary for Transport and Public Works Raimundo Arrais do Rosário said that around 300 people have been hired to operate the LRT so far.
