Takenaka Corporation sets up Yumeshima IR team

The Osaka-based Takenaka Corporation, one of Japan’s big five construction companies, publicly announced the establishment of a “Yumeshima MICE/IR Promotion Office" from October 1.

The size of the team was not revealed, but the leader is identified as Masahisa Kato. The announcement suggested that the office is meant to be a temporary organization scheduled to close at the end of FY2022.

The establishment of Takenaka’s Yumeshima development team follows similar actions by the Obayashi Corporation in May and the Kajima Corporation in July.

Many other construction companies also appear interested in positioning themselves for Yumeshima construction contracts related not only to the prospective IR, but also the hoped-for 2025 World Expo and associated transportation infrastructure projects.
