Tinian Dynasty fails to pay staff

Tinian Dynasty Hotel and Casino, the embattled casino in the Northern Marianas has failed to pay its employees for the second time in several weeks.

Around 600 employees of the casino are owed wages following delays going back a year to when the U.S. government first filed criminal charges against the casino operator, Hong Kong Entertainment (Overseas) Investments, Radio New Zealand reported.

The U.S. government earlier this month fined the Tinian Dynasty Hotel and Casino operator, Hong Kong Entertainment (Overseas) Investments, $75 million for “willful and egregious” violations of anti-money-laundering rules going back to 2008.

Recently, the Tinian Casino Gaming Control Commission said the new owners of the casino have not completed the application process and refused to co-operate.
