Total non-gaming spending down 19.5 percent in 15Q3


Total spending, excluding gaming expenses, of visitors in the third quarter of 2015 amounted to MOP12.47 billion (MOP1.56 billion), down 19.5 percent year-on-year from MOP15.49 billion in 14Q3.

The figure was up however on the previous quarter this year but by 1.8 percent from MOP12.25 billion.

In the third quarter, per-capita spending of visitors decreased by 18 percent year-on-year to MOP 1,540, and dropped by 7.7 percent compared with the second quarter. Per-capita spending of visitors from Mainland China decreased by 20 percent year-on-year to MOP1,776.

Spending of overnight visitors totalled MOP9.81 billion, down 23.8 percent year-on-year, while that of same-day visitors increased by 2 percent to MOP 2.66 billion.

Analysed by consumption habits, visitors spent mainly on shopping at 43.6 percent followed by accommodation at 25.7 percent. Visitors from Mainland China spent an average of MOP907 on shopping.
