Widus invests another $500 million in Clark

Widus Hotel and Casino is planning to invest another $500 million in Clark to expand its leisure and resort business, local media reports.

Widus president and chief executive Daesik Han said the additional investment will boost the group’s total investment in hotel projects to $1 billion.

Mr. Han encouraged more companies to invest in the development of Clark.

“The government is building the infrastructure but the private sector should contribute to build some recreational facilities so that this area is not going to be a transit area only,” he said.

Widus spent $4 million initially when it started doing business in Clark over a decade ago.
