Wynn Resorts proposes “world’s largest” IR for Japan

Wynn Resorts Development Japan President Chris Gordon says that his company was proposing to build the world’s largest IR in a city such as Tokyo, Yokohama, or Osaka.

“The current projections are that it would be the largest Integrated Resort in the world,” Gordon said at a press conference held for the Japanese media. It would top those found in places like Macau, Singapore, and Las Vegas.

Gordon also estimated that Wynn’s initial investment would be in the $8 billion to $9 billion range, and that the annual operating expenses, especially for personnel costs, would come in between $940 million and $1.4 billion. The IR would employ between 11,000 and 16,700 people.

Finally, Gordon made it clear that Wynn intends to tie up with at least one major Japanese company in order to give the bid additional credibility.
