AGEM Index surges 13.9 percent in March


AGEM Index reports a sharp increase in March 2016, attributed to the stock price increase of Konami Corp, International Game Technology and Aristocrat Technologies.

The index posted sequential growth of 13.9 percent to 224.4 points at the close of the month, representing an increase of 27.4 points. This is compared to growth of 8.5 points between January and February.

The index reported year on year growth for the sixth consecutive month, with an increase of 17.9 percent, or 34.07 when compared to March 2015.

According to the latest release from the Association of Gaming and Equipment Manufacturers, 10 of the 14 global gaming equipment manufacturers reported month-to-month gains in stock price, with Konami Corp. leading the way with stock price surging 21.6 percent. International Game Technology and Aristocrat Technologies also posted strong growth.

The monthly AGEM index, which comprises of 14 global gaming supplies around the world is computed based on the month-end stock price of each company, and gives a guide into the performance of gaming suppliers and the wider gaming industry.
