Alan Ho found guilty for sexual exploitation over prostitution racket

Alan Ho, the nephew of casino mogul Stanley Ho, has been sentenced to 13 months in jail for running a prostitution racket, local media reports.

Alan Ho, who was arrested in early 2015, was accused by the Macau Public Prosecutor's Office for founding and leading a criminal organization, as well as over 90 charges of sexual exploitation. Ho had denied his involvement in a prostitution racket operating at the SJM Holdings-owned Hotel Lisboa.

After a three-month long trial, Ho has been convicted by Macau’s Court of First Instance on charges of sexual exploitation, but was cleared of founding and leading a criminal organization, and sentenced to 13 months in prison.

However, after fourteen months behind bars already served, Ho has been set free.

The five others who stood trial also received similar charges, sentenced between five to seven months of imprisonment (considered already served), with the exception of Kelly Wong, the former assistant deputy manager of Hotel Lisboa, who was sentenced with 29 months behind bars for having earnt money for the exploitation of prostitutes.
