Average earnings of gaming employees have hit record highs, despite declining GGR in the region.
According to the Statistics and Census Service, average earnings of full-time employees in the gaming sector, as measured in June, stood at MOP 22,060 ($2,760), up by 2.7 percent year-on-year while average earnings of dealers increased by 2 percent, at MOP 18,960.
The gaming sector saw a reduction in full-time staff, down 3 percent year-on-year to 55,708, with dealers down 3.1 percent.
Only 660 new employees were hired, down 66.5 percent in the same quarter in 2015, according to DSEC.
“These indicators suggested a continued slowdown in demand for manpower in the Gaming Sector,” said DSEC in a statement.
