Cotai developments push up construction worker wages


The average daily wage of construction workers increased by 9.5 percent quarter-on-quarter to MOP771 ($96.5) in 15Q3, due to an increase in demand for workers specializing in interior finishing work on Cotai.

According to a government announcement, the average daily wage of non-resident construction workers rose by 8.5 percent quarter-to-quarter to MOP661, while that of local construction workers went up by 3.7 percent to MOP980.

The average daily wage of skilled and semi-skilled workers was MOP776, up by 9.8 percent QoQ. 

For construction materials, the average price of concrete increased by 3 percent to MOP784 per cubic metre.
