Crown Sydney penthouse likely to be worth $100m

A three-storey penthouse that will be built above Crown Resorts’ new six-star Crown Sydney hotel and casino in Barangaroo may be worth more than A$100 million ($933 million), the Sydney Morning Herald reports.

Architecture firm Wilkinson Eyre has reportedly revealed its design for the penthouse, though Crown Resorts has not yet lodged a development application.

It is unclear whether Crown would sell the apartment or reserve it as a villa for Chinese VIP guests to the new casino.

The report points out with the sale of the one penthouse, James Packer would be able to recoup the entire $100 million paid to the New South Wales government for the license for the casino. It would also be the first Australian property to top the $100 million mark.
