Echo Entertainment has given its chief executive Matt Bekier 121,170 Echo shares worth A$390,000 ($349,000) as part of his short term compensation plan, the company has told the Australian Stock Exchange. Bekier also has an unchanged holding of 656,680 performance rights. The ordinary shares cannot be sold for a year.
Echo Entertainment operates the Star in Sydney, Jupiters Hotel and Casino on the Gold Coast, Treasury Casino & Hotel in Brisbane and Jupiters Townsville, as well as managing the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre and the Townsville Entertainment and Convention Centre (partly owned)
The company reported an NPAT of $106.3 million ($95.1m)) in the year to the end of June 2014, up 27 percent on the previous year on revenue of A$1.973 billion ($1.765b) up 3.8 percent for the year, resulting in an increased dividend of 8 cps (up 33 percent).
