Gaming academic secures seat in Legislative Assembly

Professor Davis Ka Chio Fong has been selected as one of the seven lawmakers appointed by chief executive Chui Sai On for the Sixth Legislative Assembly.

The Sixth Legislative Assembly is made up of 33 members, of whom 14 are directly elected, 12 indirectly elected and seven appointed.

Article Two of the Legislative Assembly Election Law prescribes that the chief executive shall appoint seven lawmakers via an executive order within 15 days upon receiving the vote audit of the legislative assembly election.

Professor Fong is the associate professor in International Integrated Resort Management and director of the Institute for the Study of Commercial Gaming at the University of Macau.

According to a government announcement, the other six lawmakers include Mr Ma Chi Seng, Mr Pang Chuan,  Mr Wu Chou Kit, Mr Lao Chi Ngai, Mr Iau Teng Pio and Mr Chan Wa Keong.
