GKL May sales slip 3 percent

Grand Korea Leisure reported a 2.9 percent decline in casino sales for May, pulled down by a drop in revenue from table games.

The operator of three foreigner-only casinos, branded as Seven Luck, said that May revenue was KRW39.4 billion ($33.2 million) compared with KRW40.5 billion the prior year. The figure is marginally higher than the sales for April this year.

Table game revenue dropped 5.1 percent to KRW33.7 billion, while sales from electronic gaming machines gained 13.3 percent to KRW5.6 billion.

Year-to-date total sales are down 7.4 percent to KRW187 billion, with table sales declining 8.6 percent and machine revenue showing a slight increase of 0.7 percent.
