Grand Prix slows Macau GGR as expected

The Macau Grand Prix led to a slowdown in gross gaming revenue in Macau, with visitors deferring their trips in order to avoid busy traffic and road blocks last week, said Bernstein.

Macau gross gaming revenue for the week ended November 19 was MOP 714 million ($88.4 million), down from MOP 807 million in the prior week.

Month to date GGR stands at MOP 14.35 billion, with ADR of MOP 755 million.

Bernstein says according to its channel checks, it expects mass to be up low to mid-teens year-on-year while VIP is likely up low 30s percent year-on-year.

Assuming ADR of MOP 710 to MOP 730 million for the remainder of the year Bernstein analysts estimate November GGR to be in the range of MOP22.1 to MOP22.2 billion, representing an increase of 18 to 19 percent.
