HZMB opening hasn’t yet increased visitation: Ambrose So

SJM chief executive Ambrose So says he has not seen a visible increase in visitation after the opening of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, as traffic flow has been limited, Macau News Agency reports.

“It’s to soon to judge, as you know there’s a limitation on the traffic flow over the bridge. I think over time more relaxation will let traffic flow more. In the long run it will be very beneficial to Macau. As I always said once the bridge is completed, Hong Kong has casinos,” said Mr. So at the sidelines of a Macau European Chamber of Commerce event on Thursday.

Currently, casino shuttle buses are not permitted to drive to the HZMB checkpoint island. Instead, a joint shuttle bus service known called the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge Integrated Resort Connection operates between the checkpoint and Macau’s two ferry terminals during the day.
