Keidanren focused on World Expo, not IR industry

Japan Business Federation (Keidanren) Chairman Hiroaki Nakanishi clarified at a press conference before the foreign media in Tokyo that his new role as head of the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition had no connection to the IR bid at Yumeshima.

“The committee of the Expo, Kansai and Osaka, has no responsibility for the IR development at all,” he stated in English, in response to a question from Asia Gaming Brief.

He went on to explain that he has a coordinating role between Japanese firms with a “major mission” of highlighting the concept of “Society 5.0,” which is an exploration of what comes next after the “Information Age” which arose in the 1990s.

“Honestly speaking,” he added, “some of the big IR companies have tried to contact me, but I don’t yet have any idea about it.”

At the end of January, the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition established its headquarters office on the 43rd floor of Cosmo Tower, overlooking Yumeshima from nearby Sakishima.
