Labor bureau inspects city’s construction sites

The Labor Affairs Bureau has promised to inspect all of the city’s construction sites after a fatal construction accident at the City of Dreams' new hotel Morpheus construction site.  

On Friday, according to Macau TDM, a crane carrying construction materials reportedly dropped its payload onto three non-resident workers. One worker suffered severe wounds to his legs, and later passed away.

It is understood that work at the Morpheus construction site has been halted as a result of the accident.

The contractor will need to provide a detailed report on the accident and propose tighter safety measures before work resumes.

The bureau has vowed to beef up site inspections of all of the city’s construction sites.
