Light & Wonder inks supply deal for Mohegan’s INSPIRE

Global games group Light & Wonder have entered into an agreement with Mogehan to supply its portfolio of systems to INSPIRE Entertainment Resort in South Korea.

According to a company announcement, the agreement also includes ‘the installation of a full complement of Light & Wonder hit slot and electronic table games’.
The group didn’t announce the price tag of the timeline for the agreement, but the property is expected to open its non-gaming offerings in the fourth quarter of this year, with the foreigner-only casino expected within the first quarter of 2024.
Speaking about the agreement, Light & Wonder’s CEO of Gaming, Siobhan Lane, noted “A partnership with Mohegan INSPIRE offers a tremendous opportunity for Light & Wonder in the Asian market. INSPIRE will be an incredible all-new, state-of-the-art destination and we look forward to its historic debut”.
Mohegan COO Judy Madigan noted of the new purchase that “Light & Wonder offers one of the most technologically advanced systems in the industry. Integrating Light & Wonder’s advanced solutions into the new property will be integral to the success of our operations and will allow us to obtain real-time insights to drive business. Implementing these technologies will help us deliver significant value to our players.”
Aside from the casino, the property – whose initial stage is expected to cost some $2 billion, will feature 1,275 hotel rooms – spread across three 5-star hotels, a 15,000-seat arena, a waterpark and other entertainment and retail options.
Mohegan recently announced that the property was at 70 percent completion, with construction ‘tracking to plan’.
Overall investment for the resort is expected to reach up to $5 billion.
