At a press launch held at the Discovery Primea on Monday, network service company LR Data announced their partnership with Continent 8, the world’s leading anti-DDOS organization. LR Data CEO Ed Lopez highlighted their already impressive capabilities providing end-to-end data services, while pointing out that the gaming industry was the most demanding in terms of the number of attacks it sustained.
The launch was also attended by Undersecretary Eliseo M. Rio Jr of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) who outlined the Government’s National Cybersecurity Plan 2022. Undersecretary Rio said that the Philippines currently had a tools-based approach to cybersecurity, but was determined to move towards being cyber-resilient through the development of human capital, research and development, domestic and international collaboration, public-private partnerships and education programs.
Peter Williams, commercial director of Continent 8, spoke about what makes the company different from other providers in Asia, stressing their 20-year experience in the field and their robust global network.
