Gaming firms drive Manila office space demand

Demand from gaming companies will be a significant driver for Manila’s property market this year, with growth likely to exceed earlier expectations, local media cited Leechui Property Consultants as saying.

Demand from the gaming sector is expected to grow 15 percent annually until 2020 after a 412-percent expansion in 2017 to 233,902 square meters, the company’s CEO David Leechui said.

The business process outsourcing sector is also forecast to rebound after a flat year in 2017.

Outsourcing companies will likely add 485,000 square meters of office space this year, after 357,999 square meters in 2017, the slowest expansion on record, Leechiu said.
