Macau April GGR gains 10.6 percent; SJM has top share

Gross gaming revenue in April gained 10.6 percent to $3.9 billion, with Sterne Agee saying the result exceeded its expectations for growth of between 5 to 8 percent. The firm said it has raised its May forecast as a result to growth of between 12 and 17 percent from 10 to 15 percent previously. Year-to-date GRR is up 17.5 percent. According to Sterne Agee, SJM Holdings had the biggest market share of 25.2 percent, up from 24 percent in March. Las Vegas Sands slipped to 21.7 percent from 22 percent, Galaxy Entertainment had 19 percent down from 20 percent in March, while Melco Crown gained to 14.2 percent from 12.7 percent. Wynn Resorts stood at 10.5 percent down from 11.9 percent and MGM Resorts was stable at 9.4 percent.
