Macau VIP demand not likely to grow

Analysts do not see VIP demand growing in the short term due to weakening momentum in China’s economic revival over the last few months.  Services industries in China expanded at their slowest rate since last September and the government continues to crack down on junket operators. High rollers account for around two thirds of gross gambling revenue in Macau.   Ambrose So, chief executive of SJM Holdings, said in an interview that he foresees gross gaming revenue growing by around 15 percent in 2013, compared with an overall growth rate of 14 percent in 2012, but said this would be “still very good.”
