Malaysian authorities arrest 10 over theft of $972k in casino chips

Police in Malaysia have arrested 10 people over the alleged theft of some RM4.6 million ($972,000) in casino chips at a casino in Genting Highlands.

According to reports, police arrested the individuals during a series of raids, with further reconnaissance and sorties expected.
The authorities told media that an investigation was launched following a report lodged by casino security management of the Genting property on the evening of October 28th.
Authorities note that the alleged perpetrators had broken into a casino chip storage room “by force”.
Authorities note that they are still looking into the identities of the suspects and further arrests could be in the works.
