MGM announces three MORS Gold Pin winners

MGM Macau was one of the hotels to win the most awards at this year’s “Macao Occupational Skills Recognition System” (MORS) Gold Pin Competition.

The Competition, which is Macau’s most prestigious hospitality competition, provides a platform to contestants to demonstrate their professional skills and pit their talent against the best in the industry.

A total of three MGM Golden Lion Team members were recognized with Gold Pin Awards, with a total of 333 contestants representing 38 companies in Macau.

MGM had 16 outstanding team members participating in this competition, and six finalists successfully entered the Final Rounds.

The MORS participants from MGM spent around 500 hours preparing for the competition.

“The success is the culmination of the past few months of hard work and dedication of both participants and their trainers,” said the company.

The three MORS Gold Pin winners represent various disciplines, including: Ke Yushan, Front Office Attendant; Li Jianhui, Chef de Partie; and Uy Jacquilyn Ello, Food & Beverage Captain.

Golden Lion Team members and senior management including Grant Bowie, chief executive officer and executive director of MGM China Holdings Limited were in attendance to show their appreciation during the award presentation.

“We are proud to have three MORS Gold Pin winners representing the exceptional quality of our entire teamwork,” said Grant Bowie. “Investing in team members by enabling innovative talent development is a key component to promote the Company’s success. We are confident that the winners and their trainers will continue to elevate MGM’s best-in-class services and experiences, leading us to new levels of excellence for our offerings to the public.”

MORS was launched in 2001 as a joint effort of the Tourism Industry of Macao and IFT, with the main objective to upgrade human resources in the industry through the introduction of a certification scheme for a number of hospitality and tourism professions.
