MGM Resorts Japan will be a co-sponsor for Osaka’s major Tenjin Festival for a second consecutive year, including the dedication of fireworks for the festival’s finale.
The Tenjin Festival is one of the largest in Japan, featuring festival boats plying the city’s canals and massive fireworks displays. In pulls in about 1.3 million participants in an ordinary year.
The festival will be held this year on July 24 and 25.
Last year, MGM brought the Blue Man Group from Las Vegas to Osaka to participate in the festival. It is unclear if they are planning special performances of some kind this year as well.
MGM Resorts Japan President Jason Hyland commented, “Because of MGM’s strength in the field of entertainment, we are thinking every day about how to utilize an IR to transmit Osaka’s attractiveness to the whole world.”
