Macau casino operator MGM China says it is currently waiting for approval from the government for its license for MGM Cotai, but expects to open on schedule.
"We're still certainly working towards or 29th opening,” said CEO Grant Bowie, quoted by TDM News. “We're working through now with the government with all the approvals. I think, most people now in Macau, we have very stringent standards, and we're working through those process and collaborate with the government. We're confident that we can make the 29th opening", he said.
Bowie however admitted that MGM Cotai is facing a shortage in manpower, with some employees being transferred to the new property.
The CEO said the company is also looking to hire qualified non-resident workers.
