MGM launches quarterly CSR newsletter

MGM China said it has launched a quarterly newsletter to highlight its ongoing corporate social responsibility efforts in Macau, including a MOP20 million ($2.5 million) donation to help fight the coronavirus pandemic in Hubei, China.

The newsletter is known as MGMshare and details amongst other efforts, the donation of 650,000 masks and the provision of anti-epidemic supplies to the community. The operator has also waived rent for 15 days for all of the retail tenants in its resorts and agreed to a further extension of the waiver for those in need.

Another initiative involves the hiring of a specialist cleaning firm to help small and medium-sized businesses improve their hygiene practices.

Macau’s operators have been stepping up their CSR efforts in response to the crisis, despite revenue having effectively dried up due to strict border controls into the territory.
