Nevada permits betting on CS:GO

The Nevada Gaming Control Board has made a landmark decision to allow its licensed sportsbooks to take wagers on a major video game tournament currently underway, according to local reports.

In a memorandum posted last Wednesday, the state’s 49 licensed bookmakers have been given the green light to take bets on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive played at the ESL Pro League Season 11: North America.

ESL is one of the world’s largest esports tournament operators, with tournaments and events held around the world.

The ESL Pro League Season 11 is expected to run through April 12 with a $219,000 prize pool, with the finals that were originally scheduled to be played in Denver, but has now moved to a studio in Europe with the entire competition shown online only.
