Over 3,300 smoking infractions recorded


In the first five months of the year, Macau’s residents and tourists have been hit with more than 3,300 citations for smoking related offences, Macau Business reports.

So far this year, a total of 259 inspections have been conducted by the Health Bureau and the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau to prevent illegal smoking.

A total of 256 individuals have been apprehended, most of whom have been tourists, according to the Health Bureau, while around 1,762 fines have been issued to residents, 1,397 to tourists and 187 to non-residents for smoking infractions
