“By launching WeChat Pay across GEG properties, we are providing an exclusive opportunity for Macau’s valued Mainland China visitors to use a preferred payment method for their comfort, security and convenience. In the meantime, we are also supporting SME throughout this launch to build up more business connections with Mainland Chinese consumers.”

Speaking on behalf of ICBC (Macau), Mr. Zheng Kai, deputy chief executive officer of ICBC (Macau) said: “As the largest local registered bank in Macau, ICBC (Macau) has long been focused on the development of its finance technology. ICBC (Macau) was the first local WeChat Pay clearing organization officially approved by regulatory authority of Macau, and the launch of WeChat Pay also meets the regulatory requirements of the country.”

“With the launch of WeChat Pay, we believe Mainland China visitors can fully experience this convenient payment method. The collaboration between ICBC (Macau), GEG and SMEs will also lead to significant results and contribute to the economic development of Macau.”
