Paradise Co. Nov. sales drop 5 percent

Paradise Co. casino sales fell almost 5 percent in November as a gain in electronic gaming machine revenue failed to offset a drop in tables.

The South Korean company said total revenue for the month was KRW51.63 billion, down from KRW54.29 billion in the same period a year earlier. Table revenue fell 6.7 percent to KRW47.40 billion, while machine revenue was up 22.9 percent to KRW4.22 billion.

For the 11 months through to end November, casino revenue gained 16.6 percent to KRW583.15 billion, with table sales up 16.7 percent and machine sales up 15.7 percent.

Paradise gives no explanation for the trends in its monthly figures to the Korean Stock Exchange.

Casino drop in November was up 20.4 percent from a year earlier, while for the 11 months, it was up 13.5 percent.

Paradise runs the Walker-hill, Jeju Grand, and Busan Casinos, as well as the country’s first IR, Incheon Paradise City, which is a joint venture with Japan’s Sega Sammy.
