Paytm enters India rummy and fantasy sports space

E-commerce and digital wallets portal Paytm have launched a rummy and fantasy sports product on its mobile app, Glaws reports.

The rummy and fantasy sports game are accessible on the Paytm homepage and is operated by the Gamepind brand, which launched in January 2018 through a joint venture with AGTech and One97 Communications Limited.

The skill-games platform Gamepind currently offers daily fantasy games of cricket, football, and kabaddi.

Currently, neither the fantasy sports or rummy games can be played for real money, however, it is understood that that real money options will be offered in the near future.

With a valuation of over US$16 billion, Paytm is one of the largest e-commerce companies in the world, and the biggest Indian entity to enter the skill gaming space.

Investors of the company include Alibaba, Berkshire Hathway, and SAIF partners.
