Philippines and China to work together on illegal kidnapping


Police from the Philippines and China are planning to work together to tackle the illegal kidnapping of Chinese nationals, which has been on the rise in the Philippines, local media reports.

It is understood that many of the kidnappings are conducted by Chinese nationals themselves, and is usually linked to casino loan-sharking. 

According to the head of the Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG), the measures including sending Philippine offices to Beijing for a two-week anti-kidnapping course, and to establish a liaison with Chinese anti-kidnapping counterparts. 

It is also understood that China wants to send a team of Chinese police to Manila to help them combat Chinese-related casino and POGO related cases.
